Advanced nanotechnology implies advanced weapons and weapon-building. This will likely require new policy.

This is a project to:

1. Work out the technical possibilities
2. Try to find appropriate policy
3. Make and deliver products (e.g. white papers)

To improve the security of the world in the face of molecular manufacturing.

Issues include:

• How quickly can we expect nanofactories and weapons to be developed?
• What kinds of attacks and defenses will be possible?
• What kinds of policy will be needed to provide security?
• What vicious cycles need to be avoided?

Please contribute! These are big questions and will need lots of work. It doesn't have to be polished--just constructive.
