I really wasn't sure what was meant by detonating WMD on a nation's own soil. If I mis-translated it, feel free to change what I wrote.

Nuclear winter couldn't happen without massive nuclear exchange; we assumed at the top that this wasn't being considered here.

Timescale for MM is around 2030 even going by projection from other technological capabilities. 2025-2060 is way too far out. If someone tries for it starting today, it could happen before 2015; I'd be very surprised if it happened after 2030, since at that point it would cost under $1M but still have a value of billions.

I disagree with C.Phoenix's timeline a little but it really isn't important as the timeline for high mach missiles (non-MNT) is unknown and will remain classified. I know Russia announced they intented to have Mach-10 missile tests in about 8 years... The timeline for diamond-MNT is likely to be longer than is the timeline for say, DNA templating. If someone puts a trillion dollars into diamondoid MNT, there is a chance they would finish scale-up by 2015. But I think the odds of a Nanhattan starting up in the short-term are very small. Chris's comment about the consensus timeline for diamondoid MNT scale-up completion being about 2030 contradicts his 2015-2030? timeline suggested. If the median estimate is 2030, shouldn't the time-line forwarded be extended at least a decade or two past this?

I know my suggestion of a diamondoid city and MNTed flooding of orbital pathways and a MNTed missile defense were presented haphazardously; I just wanted them in print somewhere. I'll edit the page in the future as a list format: briefly introducing some immediate diamondoid infrastructures that would make the world a safer place. Some of them are obvious, like nuclear powers using MNT sensors to monitor the world's Uranium ore bodies.
